Yes, Lacke pontificating to Gösta's cat had me chuckling as well. He does it so seriously. The cat might just as easily be a packed lecture hall for all the earnestness that Lacke puts into his dissertation.Microwave Jellyfish wrote:I like the scene where Lacke is talking to one of the cats, explaining how things went wrong with Blackeberg. Little Scenes in LTROI That Make Me Laugh

Re: Little Scenes in LTROI That Make Me Laugh
That part that really has me laughing now is where Ricky the poodle looks into the camera. I can always hear JAL's voice from the commentary track track saying, "I like this one here where he looks into the camera here. It's like he's asking us, 'Did you see this? Do you see what I'm seeing?'"
...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

Is it just me, or did she seem to take a certain amount of glee in booting 'ole Hakan out? And it's funny, how unsettled he looks afterwards.moonvibe34 wrote:Well it doesn't make me laugh but at the end of the scene where Eli kicks Hakan out of his room so that she can communicate with Oskar through the wall she looks back towards Hakan and flashes an excited smile when he is finally gone. That smile makes me smile.

Oskar looks so cute in the scene. Sorta like in the pool, except without all the water in his mouth.OUTSIDER wrote:After asking about the evening weight program, Oskar seem to daydream a moment about himself "being strong." The look on his face after basically being told to, "Get Out" is great.

Re: Little Scenes in LTROI That Make Me Laugh
Is it just me but nobody mentioned the cat attack yet!
Gosta backs off from Ginia who is now with cats from her head to her toes. He retreats to the balcony and Lacke keeps tell him to come back in. Ginia is flinging cats all of the place like cyclone and then WHAM! One cat is thrown onto the glass door where Gosta is standing.
The funny part i can laugh is Ginia spinning around forming this cyclone of cats flinging out.

Låt den rätte komma in in both its printed and celluloid form is a slow acting poison. You will be poisoned white. White from arsenic and innocence.

I have to say that I know Gosta's apartment was smelly, but wouldn't it be fun to hang out with that little group, if only for a single evening, and have a few beers?Wolfchild wrote:That part that really has me laughing now is where Ricky the poodle looks into the camera. I'd rather hang out with Oskar. Together we could massacre a whole forest during that single evening. It'd be fun.
And we danced, on the brink of an unknown future, to an echo from a vanished past.
Re: Little Scenes in LTROI That Make Me Laugh
Yep. But I think Oskar's 'cutest' scene is when he gets his first close look at Eli - When she is showing him how to solve the Rubik's Cube. That is where the "Love Bug" bites him, and he is hooked!a_contemplative_life wrote:Oskar looks so cute in the scene.

Oskar and his mum doing some competitive tooth brushing provided a little light relief...
Team Eli
Re: Little Scenes in LTROI That Make Me Laugh
The twirl the Eli does after donning the mothers dress. Actually that whole section from when Eli comes from the shower to when Eli is in her window was pretty good. Panicking Oskar, "I am in the toilet".
While wandering here between posts and FF, I am gradually getting convinced, that I haven't seen anywhere more beautiful madness than on this forum. Clubmeister

Actually it would be grape soda and vodka, but yeah, it would be fun. I think actually I have done that, minus the kitties.a_contemplative_life wrote:I have to say that I know Gosta's apartment was smelly, but wouldn't it be fun to hang out with that little group, if only for a single evening, and have a few beers?
I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.
