Eli entered Oskars flat when he was being a prick to her...without being invited. It's not a nice thing to think about, but what do you think might have happened if Oskar had been a bigger prick than he was at the time? Would Eli have bled more and more and more finally collapsing, puddling to the ground like a wet dishrag? Would she have exploded? Like I said, not nice to think about, but vampires usually aren't.

I would think the purpose of the threshold permission "rule" is to prevent a vampire from entering (or staying) in a dwelling uninvited. Therefore, I would suppose that the natural result of the pain and involuntary hemorrhaging would be to compel the intruder to flee. Maybe Eli here was making a point in staying, despite the overwheling desire to flee the room???

My guess is that if Eli had stayed and Oskar had failed to "invite" her in time, she would have hemorrhaged to death.

Somewhat off topic but...it took me a while to stumble onto it, and but I really like the "Oskar and Eli on the Train" illustration. Great atmospheric feel and a sense of them being very alone in the world together. Nice!

Thanks alot, AussieDogs! I like that one a bit more than than the others as it was the first.
Just another reason for me to love the inspiration LTROI has given me, it's helped me remember the dream I had of being an illustrator.

It's hard to say what would've happened, but I could see her covered in blood and finally trying to crawl toward the door to get away. Maybe collapsing before she makes it out.
