I've watched the film too many times.

I've noticed that there seems to be certain similarities among the Infected, traits that folks who are entranced by this film have in common. The Infected tend to be intelligent, perceptive, empathetic, and open-minded. Many have an artistic side, be it poems, prose, drawing, even song-writing.

Yea, this is all well and good and stuff, but it's not all of us. If what you're saying is true (and it does seem so), it doesn't help me at all. Intelligent, perceptive, open-minded, having an artistic side, nope, none of the above and still hopelessly Infected. It's gotta be something else.

I was gonna make a snide remark about your terrible self-image, but I didn't want to drive you further into that fantasy world where you think you don't have intelligence, empathy, perception, open-mindedness and an artistic side.

Next month will be my one year anniversary with LTROI and I've watched the film about 12 times. During my first viewing I knew that something special was unfolding before my captivated eyes but at the time I had NO idea that JAL's tale was going to affect me so deeply. The emotional effects and introspection unleashed upon me by Oskar and Eli hit me like a ton of bricks the day after my first viewing of the film.

Now, almost a year later the film still conjures the same feelings and has a powerful effect on me whether I watch it from start to finish or just brush up on my favorite scenes. The score is beautifully devestating and chokes me up every time. All of my favorite films that I've loved since childhood still provoke my imagination and wonder to this day ( that's why they're my favorites) but nothing has ever stirred my emotions like LTROI. It has left an imprint on my mind and heart that continues to fascinate and impress me. I hope my journey with Oskar and Eli has only just begun. Long live the Infection!

Moonvibe, which part of Alabama are you from? I'm from southeast corner(Dothan). Anyway I think its cool someone else from the wonderful state of Alabama(sarcasm) is on here. And I agree with you about LTROI, its a real moving, emotional movie.

Hey theguy1991, I was surprised and glad to see a fellow Alabamaian when I read that you were from Dothan. I thought I had the Infection all to myself here in the Heart of Dixie. I'm from Chilton County which is near the center of the state but I worked around the Dothan area several times a few years back. War Eagle Baby!!!

I have watched the film about 6 times in all once was on my blackberry and that was the commentary version which dosnt sound alot compared to you guys but i think i only watched it for the first time a few weeks back.No doubt i shall prob watch it again before i go see the Yankee version on the cinema.The film was in my thoughts way to much after the first few viewings so i have decided to wean myself off it so you could say i am in rehab at the moment

I've been limiting my exposure to the materials to just this forum for about the last week and will continue to try to do so until LMI comes out next week, not because I think I've seen it too many times, but because reducing my exposure to the original film and novel will help me to enjoy the American version more. I'll be able to watch it with fresher eyes and be able to see any substance that might be in it that I would otherwise miss while trying to compare it to work already done. Plus, my DVD is still on loan to some people at work

I received my Team Eli button today. I should really pay more attention to sizes when it comes to buttons. This thing is like twice the size I was expecting, but well worth the $3.50 I spent on it.

Like the most infected here on this forum, I've watched the movie several times. Maybe too many times, though I can't say i'm bored with it yet.
I still enjoy every scene in it, still watch it fully. The emotions are so well portrait that they seem real.
I plan to watch it again after i've gone to see Let me in, in october.

I have to admit that it's been a while now since i've seen it again. I think, like several others here, I don't want to risk dragging this awsome film to the point where I put it on but don't really watch it anymore. I don't want this film to be boring to me. Though I don't think that will happen.

Also I love writing and drawing about these two characters. That's maybe also another reason for me to watch the movie, over and over .
Study how they interact, and then try to express it in the comic i'm making, and in my fan fic.

But all in all, it remains my favorite movie of all times. And it won't be bumped to second place any time soon....

I saw the movie for the first time in November 2010, and I have watched it another 27 times after that.
