Could Lina play Teresa?
She'd have to gain a bit more weight if they were to be accurate to the book (then again compare Kare to the Oskar in the book) but otherwise I think she could do a good job. Thoughts?

I'd have to re-read the book to offer a meaningful opinion. Can you say more about why you think it'd be a good role for her?

It's hard to put in words. Whenever I read a Lindqvist book I kind of imagine how it would be if Tomas were to make it a film and then my mind gravitated towards Lina after I saw this picture:

(Not that it really resembles Lina but it was still evocative to me.)
Also Theres/Theresa gave me a lot of Oskar/Eli vibes.

It'd probably be hard to watch Lina play such a despicable character.

Dunno. I thought Theres had all the warm humanity of a centipede.CyberGhostface wrote:Idk I felt bad for her and Theres even at the end.

Well she was raised in isolation for most of her formative years and made to believe everyone wanted to hurt her. I don't think she ever had a chance at being normal.

Plus Theres was likely brain damaged after being suffocated until the point she had turned blue, while she was still only days(?) old.CyberGhostface wrote:Well she was raised in isolation for most of her formative years and made to believe everyone wanted to hurt her. I was sort of on-side with Theresa ... right up until she killed her friend (can't remember his name). I might have still sided with her had she killed one of the bad kids, but not her friend.

That's more or less how I felt.Jameron wrote:Plus Theres was likely brain damaged after being suffocated until the point she had turned blue, while she was still only days(?) old.CyberGhostface wrote:Well she was raised in isolation for most of her formative years and made to believe everyone wanted to hurt her. Re: Could Lina play Teresa?
I really can't say if Lina would be right for the part since I have not seen any recent work from her. My impression is that Lina is much too nice a young lady to play either the mentally ill Teresa, or Theres (the human centipede ) who has God knows what wrong with her. Maybe Lina does not want to be type cast?
These are two demanding roles. It would be cool to see them brought to the screen. Maybe two experienced actresses could be found- older than the characters they play.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.
