Girls as bullies
Little Star is similar in various ways to Let the Right One In, but one important difference is that the main characters are now girls, rather than boys. I don't know how much people are aware of this, but bullying for girls tends to be different than it is for boys. Where as boys favor physical intimidation, girls tend to favor social and emotional forms of abuse. Who is included, who is excluded, gossip- that sort of thing. The role that "social media" can play in this sort bullying is pretty self-explanatory.
I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Yeah, that is true. Girl bullies tend to use pycholocial tactics rather than physical intimdation like their male counterparts. Which tend to be more intense, I've seen some of girl's bully the hell out of another timid girl during my high school education.gattoparde59 wrote:Little Star is similar in various ways to Let the Right One In, but one important difference is that the main characters are now girls, rather than boys. I was also bullied when I was in elementary school. First time it happened was in 2 grade and I was confused because I had never done anything to that girl. She used to tell me things to make me feel bad. Lucky for me there was another girl in class who defended me.
Later when I moved to another school it happened again but this time I was on my own. So I fought back but I did not felt any better.
I guess now is probably worst with the internet and the technology that is available.

That is true, cyberbullying is now a real problem and it getting just as worst as cyber sexual predators prowling online for their next victim. One of the main reason, why I hate social networking sites.EEA wrote:I was also bullied when I was in elementary school. Cyberbullying is indeed a real problem, and it won't get any better. There's something about talking to people through a computer that makes them seem less human, somehow. Distance, maybe, or the illusion of anonymity? Who knows? - but it has already proven deadly on occasion. Just do a google on "bullied to death".DarkGuyver wrote:That is true, cyberbullying is now a real problem and it getting just as worst as cyber sexual predators prowling online for their next victim. Online sexual predators are another facet of modern life, and this problem, too, isn't going to get any better, but I have to ask: in what way is bullying related to sexual predation?

So, when a bunch of girls decide they're going to perpetrate all kinds of psychological and emotional trauma online on another girl, there's rape and sexual predation involved?gattoparde59 wrote:Rape.sauvin wrote:Online sexual predators are another facet of modern life, and this problem, too, isn't going to get any better, but I have to ask: in what way is bullying related to sexual predation?

I said that the problem with cyber bullying is just getting as worst as sexual predators prowling online for their next victim. Meaning that the problem of cyber bulling is getting to the point where the problem reach the same cyber criminal ranking as sexual predators prowling online.sauvin wrote:Online sexual predators are another facet of modern life, and this problem, too, isn't going to get any better, but I have to ask: in what way is bullying related to sexual predation?

Your question was not very specific.
