We, The Infected

First there was "Les Revenants" french film(1984) and a TV show(2012) about deceased
returning to their homes and their families.
Now we get an American version called "Resurrection" premiering March 9 on NBC.

This series is based on 2013 novel "The Returned" by Jason Mott. I have not read the book,
but from mostly positive reviews on Amazon it does sound a lot like a French TV show and Lindquist's novel.
Is it in part influenced by "Handling the Undead" or is it fully inspired by
French productions? Only time will tell. This concept could be easily ruined
or made to appear silly especially since it's produced for US Television.
Anyway, it's soumething to check out

The first thing that came to mind was the French TV series. I thought it was being remade for American TV.

Handling the Undead is more of a rethinking of the zombie horror movie which gives it some things in common with these stories.

To me, it doesn't sound like it is influenced at all by Handling The Undead, it sounds just like a remake of Les Revenants. But there is scant information about it, the telling moment will be when/if we see semi rotted people walking around, somehow I doubt we will.

While we are on the subject of The Returned, I've just stumbled across this trailer for an American remake of the French film Les Revenants...

Which reminds me, I still need to watch the French film.

I enjoyed the French film until the very end when it just seem to run out of ideas and steam...
In the first half when the dead return some scenes remarkably reminiscent of "Handling the Undead".
