film adaptation

Post by waggy05 » Sun Dec 05, 2010 12:13 am

I know this has been discussed on here but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for...

But does anyone have any info on the film adaptation for Hanteringen av odöda?

such as,
who is writing/producing, etc?
has a release date been announced?
how much JAL has been involved?

and I'm sure this is just wishful thinking.... but any idea when I can expect an english-subtitled version? (far off, I know)

I really hope this is done as well as Låt den rätte komma in.

Apparently on IMDB's cast of HTU Lina Leandersson is one of the rumored stars...True? Rumour? Anyone heard anything about this?

I see Per Ragnar is also listed as rumored. I hope this is real and not submitted by some wishful IMDB user.

Lina as Flora? Could be interesting, depends when it will be filmed. After the performance in svt in September (15 - det är mitt liv), she could make a great character out of Flora.
I guess Tehilla Blad also is an excellent choice.

If this posting is legit and anything to go by...then well, I'll let the IMDB post speak for itself
It has to be closer to fantasy than rumor since no one has spoken to me about it in any case.

/Tehilla
If that is accurate then it looks like "fantasy casting".

The wait is kind of killing me for this...I really want to see another JAL book hit the screen.

I contacted the producers of the film adaptation of Handling The Undead, Tre Vänner Produktion, and they say they are not pursuing the project any more.
"Dear Keith,
We are no longer working on that project. It has been dropped.

Sincerely,

Charlotta Ribbefjord

Soooooo who's up for nagging Tomas to do it?

IIRC John talked about considering to ask Kristian Petri to direct HtU, and Tomas Alfredson to direct Harbour.
If we were to spam anyone, it should be Tre Vänner Produktion which decided to go directly for an american version of HtU, which John didn't want to, and blocked, thus delaying the film adaption three years.
