Doesn't Amazon deliver 'most anything these days?
Would that work? Don't eliform vampires need a
personal invitation?
To open such a parcel might be a horrible experience, but in a different way than what you appear to suggest...

(And there's always the delivery guy as a last resort.)

I was actually envisioning fresh blood deliveries
by a blood-filled delivery person. But you've brought up an interesting point. Would a more 'formal' vampire be able to enter a home with a written invitation only? (In this case, an Abby-filled trunk with the victim's order-fulfilling address on it?) I don't believe JAL ever addressed that possibility, except, perhaps, by inference. "...you have to say I can come in..."
In a formal contract, what is 'said' is in writing.
We never stop reading, although every book comes to an end, just as we never stop living, although death is certain. (Roberto Bolaño)

Ah, I see. The delivery guy is the actual delivery!
That would work, maybe, but would also reveal the whereabouts of the vampire...

I would think that the invitation is an example of the old idea that there is
magic in spoken words.
Thus, I believe the invitation has to be spoken.

I'll drink to that!
