Distance

Post by EEA » Sat Nov 05, 2016 2:49 pm

Prologue:
I look from far away, I don't see anything, distance, distance from others, the screams, the agony of help, is not for me. No, I am not happy to see you, I am not your friend. What kept me near you? You are wrong. Every time you I was, there was a distance that separates me, distance each time you try to keep close, distance mix with coldness, distance filled with caring.

What did you know about him?
"He was a student at my class."
He was not someone you would notice. He said here each morning after he heard me calling his name. His voice was barely audible, like a mouse. A squeak. After that it was, as if he was not in the class.
Did you know his name?
"Yes."
No, I did not, I forgot it. That kid was forgettable. Not someone I would know about. A ghost. That's what he was.
Since when was he in your class?
"Since third grade."
Sadly he was, and I did not pay lunch attention to him.
Did you know he was bullied?
"No."
I did know. But what was I going to do. He never came and told me. I suspect that there might be some teasing. I ask him, but he said no. Did I ask him enough.
Did he have any friends?
"I don't know."
No, probably, not.
Do you think he had a reason to run away?
"Yes. The situation with his parents."
Now he becomes focus. Now he is interested. He wants a lead. He wants to believe he ran away. I have read the newspaper report. Vampires, what the kids that were in the pool that night said.
Can you elaborate more on that?
"I heard that after the divorce things between his parents were not on good terms. You know a lot of fighting, stuff like that. Maybe he ran away because he couldn't take the situation at his house."
Lies, I just lied. I am just so tired of been called in, I don't know what happened to him. I don't know.
I think that will be all. If anything we will give you a call you by phone. Thank you for your time.
"You are welcome."
Finally I can go home. I have a lot of homework to correct.

Yes I was his teacher, I should have known,I should have done something, but I am not the one to blame. He was 12, he should have done something to. Defend himself, talk to someone, but worst of all I will forget about him, this town will forget. He probably ran away, the best decision for him to make, in this town he would have been eaten and beaten, in which his name will be forgotten.

I like this new perspective. I also like the way you have the teacher say what will create the smallest waves, and think the truth. Nicely done.

I really like the way this is going!

Micke

"That kid rip them to pieces."

"Are you sure?"

This kid...

"Yes! Yes! I said you can come in to that kid, when that scream...."

"Say I can come in. That is what you heard?"

"Yes, yes, I wanted it all to be over.."

Sure, you have.

"And then what happened?"

"I don't know, blood everywhere, too much blood...."
This kid sure has a lot of imagination.
"I just wanted it all to be over...."
Yeah, so do I but what you keep telling makes no sense.

I didn't say that, this police guy came back. But no I won't let him get me. I will.
"Then I said come in, come in,"
"Isn't that what you said?"
Is all my fault, I should not have spoken.
"I didn't."
"Then what happened that night at the pool?"
"I don't know."
Glass shatters, screams, I keep my eyes closed.
Now I
Can't sleep at night.
I can't breathe,
I can't talk,
I can't move.
I don't want to close my eyes
When I do I see pieces of their
Flesh pierced to my skin
Pieces of red glass landing at my
Eyes
I tremble.
"Can I go?"
"Sure, kid."
