...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

I like it. Definitely in the spirit of the movie.

Agreed. All stories on this fan fiction site are very nice. It's so obvious that the writers have contemplated the characters and story thoroughly.

I don't read much fan fiction, but this one truly worth it.
But has the sentence Hope God does too. been there all along? Haven't noticed it the first time I read it yesterday.
And we danced, on the brink of an unknown future, to an echo from a vanished past.

When I feel that I am writing honestly and earnestly about Eli, I tend to get the same way. It's what keeps me coming back to this forum, I think.

I just can't help myself, none human romance ever forced me to cry or even get my eyes wet, but this is something different it's really great romance Eli and Oskar, I wish I would sometime experienced something so unreal and fantastic even if it could threaten my life, I would accept it for someone like Eli

Loved them singing together. Eli might have been comforted by this attribution to Santa Lucia;

Sentenced to be defiled in a brothel, Lucy asserted:
“ No one's body is polluted so as to endanger the soul if it has not pleased the mind. If you were to lift my hand to your idol and so make me offer against my will, I would still be guiltless in the sight of the true God, who judges according to the will and knows all things. If now, against my will, you cause me to be polluted, a twofold purity will be gloriously imputed to me. You cannot bend my will to your purpose; whatever you do to my body, that cannot happen to me."
