There is an eclipse today in the U.S. At the moment it is 20% coverage where I am; this will rise to about 60% at peak for my location. The peak, for where I am located, should occur in about 45 minutes.

Btw, if I've ever considered a fan fic wherein our tiny duo make a "broad daylight" getaway by using the moment of an eclipse, wellllll it is clear that unless the lighting drastically changes, such an escape simply wouldn't work. Too much sunlight remains.

What we're doing is looking at the shadow of the eclipse by using a pair of binoculars , letting the light pass through and onto a large sheet of paper.

There's an advantage to our morning fog when we need to take advantage of a partial solar eclipse (74%) to take photos.

Caught the very first part of it - then it was obscured by some clouds, and then it rained! Rats!

I forgot about the eclipse, but did get the chance to see one a long time ago when I was 13.

By "we", what he means, folks, is the set up a webcam from his backyard down to the basement so that the kids, who'd stayed up all day waiting, could watch.
