TED Talks

Post by PeteMork » Fri May 05, 2017 3:15 am

My hero, Elon Musk, imagines bringing things to life that I used to dream about when I was a kid, voluntarily sequestered in the basement of the Midland County court house (where the youth library was located), sitting in the stairwell reading science-fiction books. And finally, at the end of the day, catching a ride home with my grandmother (the librarian), head full of starships, electric cars, and supercomputers that circled the Earth doling out the collective wisdom of mankind.
EDIT: I love his answer at the end, when he is asked why he does the things he does, and he answers: "I just want to think about the future of mankind without feeling sad."
We never stop reading, although every book comes to an end, just as we never stop living, although death is certain. (Roberto Bolaño)
