The original Tales from the Crypt was a bright and shining star of cheesy, chintzy, glittery and gleefully cartoonishness (barely) hiding its staunchly conservative preachiness behind corn syrup blood and latex gore. If you can get past its superficial garishness and its often sophomoric humour, it was charmingly entertaining. I fear this reboot, should it ever materialise because Shyamalan's track record seems to be hit-or-miss. While his hits are undeniable, his misses are best measured in "country miles". My fear is that this "reboot" will be too "serious", too "mysterious" or "cryptic" (heh, heh, heh) or it'll be just plain silly.
