I am actually working on getting dreads right now, I have about 23 dreads in my hair already, but I need maybe ten more to fill up my entire head. So that's something :)

Cool :D

How long was your hair before the dreads?
Do they take much looking after?
Would dreads have suited Eli 'cause his hair was getting sticky and matted a lot of the time?

I don't know anyone with dreads, so I'm just getting the stupid questions out of the way ;)

It covered my chest.

Every two months or so apparently they will be tied at the roots by my sister, which hurts so much. I also am working on learning how to crusade hairs into the dreads, at the very end, but apart from that I pretty much don't do anything. I don't wash them with shampoo even, gotta leave them to tie themselves up for a few months before getting special dreads shampoo.

There is such a thing as natural dreads, where unwashed hair simply ties itself together and makes dreads completely naturally. And the dreads becomes uneven, in different sizes and might tie themselves together, and if not tended to, parting them at the roots and crusading the, they might even turn into one big messy dread. Eli would be bale to get dreads if he just didn't brush his hair or wash it at all. But the dreads would not be very long since his hair barley touches his shoulders. According to the book.

Eli with dreads would be pretty cool though, gotta admit. :D
