The YouTube vid is so cool and so unexpected! Thanks!intrige wrote:I have played it, it's "the ting" among youth, almost everyone I know have either played mindcraft or does still, from my hometown. Ever wanted to make Blackeberg in Mindcraft? Good idea huh? In the meantime I found this on youtube:

Sacred grove...
Re: Minecraft
All this is stunning. Amazing. Consider yourself hired when I build my next house. Or better, palatial estate. Never know when I might need another palatial estate. (In reality that would translate to a meager bungalow in my case, but hey I can dream.)
Re: Minecraft
I am still amazed by your ability to convert all the beautiful curves in the real-world structures to squares and rectangles in the Minecraft world, while still maintaining the proportions as well as you do.
That being said, I ran across this article on the Minecraft Forum:

Is this of any use to you at all? Or is my noviceicity showing?

Wow! There's a whole subculture of Minecraft Nerds. That's fantastic.a_contemplative_life wrote:I have never used a formula. This website is very handy, though...

(But it'd sure be nice if you could make real circles and spheres.)

Well, I don't have Photoshop, but I used Paint to create the 192 flags of the nations of the world. Squares and circles still come down to pixels, so circles have to be gussied up by shading to give the proper illusion. The 72-degree (five pointed) stars never come out quite right.PeteMork wrote:Wow! There's a whole subculture of Minecraft Nerds. That's fantastic.

I, too, am impressed with what ACL can do with the set of tools Minecraft has. Way impressed.
