Re: LTROI - Alternate Soundtrack

Thanks for sharing. Interesting to see another interpretation of the story music-wise, but as someone who hasn't seen any of the stage productions I can't say that any of the pieces stand out as particularly memorable-sounding to me.

Re: Ghosts

PART 3 SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2008 In the autumn of 2008, Tommy decided to get a Facebook account. Every Sunday he took the subway to Vällingby to participate in the St Thomas Church's volunteer activities and make sandwiches for the visitors, which largely consisted of people who weren't faring so we...

Re: 20th Anniversary Edition announced

And here's the raw cover art, from Vincent Chong's Instagram . I was really thrilled last year to be asked by @ordfrontforlag to do the cover for the special 20th anniversary edition of the classic horror novel LET THE RIGHT ONE IN by @johnajvidelindqvist, which has inspired two movie adaptations. I...

Re: 20th Anniversary Edition announced

I like the all-red Rubik's Cube and the overall composition and mood, but I'm less keen on Eli's appearance. Think his face looks a bit too grown-up, if that makes sense. The original Swedish cover still reigns supreme IMO. When it becomes available, let us know! I foresee a coming picture of you ho...

Re: Last book(s) you read?

1793 , the first part of Niklas Natt och Dag's Bellman Noir trilogy of crime novels set in 1790s Stockholm. I read the graphic novel version (2022) first and then the original prose version (2017), and I really enjoyed both. Extremely well-researched and detailed depiction of an interesting time pe...

20th Anniversary Edition

Let the Right One In celebrates 20 years! In 2004, John Ajvide Lindqvist's debut novel Let the Right One In was released. Even if the publisher loved the book, none could've expected how much attention it and John Ajvide Lindqvist would come to receive. 20 years later, Let the Right One In is a mod...

Re: 6-Hour LTROI Class/Workshop

I'd like to add mention of The Gemsbok's recent review (shared by intrige a while back) and their interesting analysis of the movie's use of color.

Re: Vampirism and Medication

It's not mentioned in regards to Tommy's glue sniffing, but it is mentioned that Eli becomes slightly intoxicated by the alcohol in Lacke's blood (Part Five, "Monday 9 November"). It's possible that Eli was also affected in Tommy's case but that it happened and wore off off-page (there's a gap of se...

Re: Handling the undead spoiler review, by me :)

Like Flora, who met death as a kid, is now the big sister of the kid with the hamster, and it is a bunny now, not a hamster. In the book, it's Eva who almost drowned and met Death as a child (which inspired one of the characters in the children's book series she wrote). Flora has psychic abilities ...
