Re: New TV adaptation ordered by Showtime

They should call it "Let Me In" or whatever other name and it will be all good. I really don't want this thing to appropiate the title "Let the right one in" at all, or to be associated with, only as "inspired by" or "based on", and then they can go with absolute different paths all they want. And p...

Re: New TV adaptation ordered by Showtime

Could be interesting, but why don't they use another title, as it is a complete different story it seems.

It also looks it would be heavily focused on this father-Hakan-like character, as they talk a lot about Bichir.

Re: What makes a vampire?

It depends on which side you are on, or where you prefer to place the novel: science fiction-esque or supernatural fantasy. JAL combined the two, which makes the novel so good. In more "sci-fi" territory, Eli is just a boy/girl with an unusual illness, and is supposed to be a little LESS powerful, t...

Re: Ten Years Later review of LTROI and LMI

This guy is reviewing the BOOK (with Hakan's background and all) and yet he's still betting on the New Hakan Theory. People seem to love this idea. It almost looks like Eli has a supernatural power of manipulation, as he presents Hakan as a pure victim and not as a villain or a man who succumbs to H...

Re: Eli's reflection

JAL sees vampirism as an infection, but he kept many supernatural myths, he still flirts with science fiction in many passages, like hakan reborn at the morgue or the second brain stuff (a more cronenbergian approach). Eli is also more biological in his physical functions and more ethereal in his pr...

Re: Could a trans actress play Eli?

Anyone who looks like the character described in the book (pretty girl with pale skin and dark hair) can play Eli. Some people insist on the "androgynous" look, but that's only because he * is supposed to be a boy, looking like a starving (pretty) girl. I mean, if you have an actress, you really don...

I hope so. Good news.
The novel definitely deserves more recognition on its own as a modern horror classic-masterpiece.

Re: Last DVD/Movie you bought or watched?

Just watched "The Dark" by Justin P. Lange..And ok somehow interesting little film, maybe too little for it's own good, but I guess the director didn't have too high pretentions with it. And that's Ok. https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bw5RwDfIVVU/W8DNo7wUkoI/AAAAAAAAV38/gIC8faz7KncOgQzsCnrIzuBQM2Turjn1ACL...

Re: That unnamed vampire woman... (Spoilers)

Thinking that suicide is a "wonderful idea" is more sinister than compassionate. By using those words you can tell that the woman is at least cynical. In the JAL world there are apparently two types of infected people: - Those who have morale and commit suicide before becoming bloodsucking murderers...
