Raven Flight (Korpflykt)
Here's my my fourth piece of fan fiction, Korpflykt , and a translation into English, Raven Flight . I wrote it to investigate how it would be to learn to fly, as well as to see what the teacher - student relation between Eli and Oskar would be like during Oskar's freshman year of vampirehood. Chron...

Hunter's Exam (Jägarexamen)
Here's my third piece of fan fiction, Jägarexamen , and a translation into English, Hunter's Exam . I wrote it to learn what happened when Oskar went for his first hunt. Chronologically, it fits after my piece Att ha gäster/Hosting Guests . An explanation for non-Swedes, regarding the title: In Swed...

Hosting Guests (Att hysa gäster)
Here's my second piece of fan fiction, Att hysa gäster , and a translation into English, Hosting Guests . I wrote it to learn what happened Oskar and Eli the first days in Karlstad. This is my take on this subject. Chronologically, it fits right after JAL's epilogue to the epilogue, Let the Old drea...

A New Life - fan fiction by metoo
This thread was created for announcing, commenting and discussing the fan fiction written by me, metoo. Originally I created one thread per contribution, but I've asked Wolfchild to merge the various threads into this one. All postings that were made to the single threads have been moved here. Furth...

Re: Non-English contributions
For my fan fiction, I wanted to make the full use of my writing abilities, and I can have that only in my native tongue, i.e. Swedish. So, although I consider myself a fluent English writer, I still am much more agile in Swedish. Translating into a foreign language is hard work, actually harder than...

Re: Eli's Decision to Show Oskar His Turning
No, it's the in the nature of real friendship. When you reveal your anxieties and sorrows to a real friend, he/she will become sad because of you. And when you see that, you'll know that your sorrow is shared by someone; then it will become easier to bear.a_contemplative_life wrote:Was it cruel?

Re: About wings and flying
Why do you think Eli weighed a half of ordinary boy? No particular reason. In the movie as well as the novel, Jocke is surprised by the lightness of Eli, so the difference have to be substantial. And, since Eli has several magical properties, why not also being improbably lightweight? Actually, in ...

About wings and flying
In the LtROI novel universe, vampires can fly by reconfiguring their bodies to sport wings. There is no other magic involved in flying but the ability to create and operate wings (otherwise the wings would be unnecessary altogether, and Eli could just as well fly like Superman). So, what would be th...

Non-English contributions
Below you'll find a question I posted to Wolfchild, who suggested that I repost it here, for a public opinion on the matter. FYI, Wolfchild didn't approve posting fan fiction in other languages than English (as long as it is not JAL who does it, I assume), but, as mentioned, suggested that I post my...

Vecko-Journalen (trivia)
Anyone who has watched the film a few times might have noticed the magazine that Håkan was reading when chased away from his bed by Eli. His choice actually tells something about him, which might not be apparent to non-Swedes (and to Swedes who were not around at the time). So: Vecko-Journalen was a...
