I would love to go back to the 1930's and remake LTROI with Shirley Temple as Eli and Jackie Cooper as Oskar. Connie, Martin and Andreas would be played by Alfalfa, Spanky and Buckwheat.

The original Mad Max was dubbed with American actors because studio was under impression that Australian accents were too tough to understand. The dialogue stayed the same since it was all English. My favourite scene in the English dub is when Jocke & Lacke are saying good bye just before Jocke gets nommed. So bad it's painful.

Can't say I ever really thought about them as "beautiful." Oskar seems much improved over how he is described in the book. On the other hand it would be hard for anyone to live up to the description of Eli that's in the book.
