Let The Right One Into Dust
Been a half dozen years since I posted on this forum; wonderful to find this place still active. I wanted to share this video made earlier this year as part of cognitive assembly art therapy... Perhaps a worthy addition to the fine collection here. https://vimeo.com/288402555/38e8113ca1 Credits: "In...

Re: Quick Bright Things
I'm always flattered when I drop in here and read these responses.
This was an awesome story to write. It helped me through some personal crap, and speaks to something far more than that. I like having been the faucet for it.

Re: OT: Intellectual property theft??
Non-issue. 1) Titles cannot be copyright, only trademarked. And they are still subject to satire. 2) The title, "Let the Right One In" was used by JAL from a Morrissey song. 3) Why would an author get pissed off by homage to their work? Art certainly doesn't exist in a vacuum. Unless you're in space...

Re: Is Lina........?
I knew an Iranian girl who fled Iran because she and her family were Jewish. Unless the person in question makes a point of it, it really is a puzzle to me why any body would ask about their religious persuasion, especially a 14 year old girl. To my reading, nothing was said nor implied here that i...

Re: At the Mountains of Madness
Lovecraft isn't a writer of "Gothic" horror. Is that so. Are you a fan, mayhaps? I'm sure I have seen the term associated with his work several times (a quick check through Wikipedia reassures me), although not being very knowledgeable in the subject I couldn't say for sure whether this is due to a...

Re: At the Mountains of Madness
One night in high school, armed with some crappy beer, decent weed, and a video camera, a few of us made a quick and dirty (& somewhat decent) version of "The Statement of Randolph Carter." My friend made incredibly disturbing off-camera sounds of the ghouls munching poor Warren. That would be a gre...

Difference is this spamfest make me feel like puking. Yeah, the other ones make me feel like doing that. To my reading, nothing was said nor implied here that is remotely denigrative. Someone asked a question. It might not be a pertinent question, or even one that's popular, but questions should ne...

Re: At the Mountains of Madness
There have been some other fair Lovecraftian films out there by other less known directors. Re-animator, The unnameable, Dagon among others. The one thing I like and think Del Tori would nail in his interpretation would be the creatures. Dagon & Reanimator were well done, but neither resembled much...

[quote="TAPETRVE"]Now that we're at 16 Horsepower:
Manes - "Cinder Alley" (16 Horsepower cover)
Took me a couple minutes to warm to the vocals, but certainly an intriguing cover.
