Re: American Bandstand Eli

Hmmm hmmm hmmmm hhhhmmmmmmmmm.........don't know either, after 200 years you hear a lot of melodies. P.S. American Bandstand was on from the 1952 until 1989, sooo it wasn't that long ago. (I was on my world wide walk-about by then) Yeah, for us old farts, '89 was practically yesterday! For us...

Re: LET THE RIGHT ONE IN on NEW YORK STAGE!

It's probably not possible to get this play to my neck of the woods. But, Atlanta is only about three hours from here (fingers crossed).

Re: Book edition

I read this recently in the Kindle edition. There were some similarities and some differences. But having read scripts for other movies in the past, it seems that the movie (or in this case, the play) is usually better than the script. I would really like to see the play. Maybe some day it will be p...

Re: You have to wonder......

A nice second choice would be if a version of the play ever gets filmed. I know, I know---all the red tape (and money exchanging hands under tables :o ) would make this difficult as well.

Things were simpler in the old days. (I think Gary Oldman might have used that line in "Dracula". :D)

I'm thinking sometimes the lack of beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

Re: Elias' home

I can remember spending nights with my maternal grandmother. Only the kitchen and the living room had heat. Both bedrooms were unheated. When you went to bed in the winter, you had so many blankets and quilts on top of you, you could hardly move. When you went to bed in winter, you STAYED in bed! :l...

Re: LTROI play on film????

After giving it some thought, I'm inclined to think that one or more of the performances were in fact filmed. At the same time, I would think that any films would just be for purposes of future reference. The director, for instance, might have it filmed in order to notice any flaws or scenes that mi...

Re: Why Do Some People on IMDB Feel Compelled to Trash LTROI

I don't get it. :( It's not just Let The Right One In, it's pretty much every film out there. It is a sad reflection on society, that when people feel there are no consequences for their actions then there are no limits to what they can do. Self discipline, self control, and respect for others seem...

Re: Why Do Some People on IMDB Feel Compelled to Trash LTROI

I think that a statement made supposedly by Abraham Lincoln explains a lot of the criticism. "You can please all of the people some of the time. And you can please some of the people all of the time. But you cannot please all of the people all of the time. And some of the people you cannot please an...

Re: the epilogue

I just recently finished "Let The Old Dreams Die", which I downloaded to my Kindle. There are several other stories on there, several of which I liked. The short story in the book (which has the same title as the book itself) has a surprise ending to it. If I tell you, it won't be a surprise. ;)
