Re: Let the Right One In vs. Let Me In

I agree with so much of this, @Vampyr5000 . I saw LTROI many times and had read the (English version of the) novel before I saw LMI, so my experience was not the same as your. Just the same, I agree with your with your thoughts on the pacing, music and such. LMI is certainly an American movie. I'm g...

Oh, absolutely! I'm definitely making a list. I would have been thrilled to join in! But, you know, it's a bit out of reach for me.
Hey - welcome @Broderidnnelly99 :D

Re: What This Movie Means to Me

Greetings and welcome! Welcome to 'We, the Infected', as from your post this appears to be the case  You'll find a lot of discussions here, yet don't let that hold you off from starting your own. I look forward to seeing your pictures of both Blackeberg and Luleå. We've had several such set...

Re: 6-Hour LTROI Class/Workshop

Another film technique note is the use of a Dutch angle for the very short shot of Eli sitting alone in the apartment. It is discussed here: http://let-the-right-one-in.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2509&p=39355&hilit=Dutch+angle#p39354 and then at wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch...

Re: 6-Hour LTROI Class/Workshop

In looking about for where others here have gone over the film or have found articles that go over the film from either a screenwriter's or filmmaker's point of view - something that gets into analyzing the film in terms of the craft and its elements. The first of these that I've spotted is a thread...

Re: 6-Hour LTROI Class/Workshop

ABOUT CINEMA DISSECTION Cinema Dissection affords film lovers an exciting opportunity to dig deeper into the films that they love. Inspired by Roger Ebert's annual Cinema Interruptus in Boulder, CO, attendees will participate with a facilitator in a six-hour scene-by-scene, and sometimes shot-by-sh...

Re: 6-Hour LTROI Class/Workshop

This could be fantastic. Any info on whether they will record this? Some of us are (shamefully) not local to the Seattle area but would LOVE to be able to watch along - whether live or recorded. First off, it's remarkable that SIFF would pick this film. There alone is surely a backstory worth diggin...

Re: Icelandic movie poster

Wow! That IS funny. It also looks to me like a short-story challenge: Write a short story in which our Oskar and Eli could believably be in a scene like this. Further challenge for GK or anyone else up to the challenge: Make it the final scene in the story. :ugeek: Urrrgh, been mulling this over.
