Watching the film this morning
This film was so impactful to me when i saw this on netflix so many years ago. It still strikes such a chord with me 12ish years later. In fact, it was my need for more, to delve deep into the authors world in search of fan fiction that brought me to this board, i cant believe its been nearly a life...

Article in the NY Times.
Its been ages since I've posted here but I can happily say the infection remains with me still. I was very plesently surprised to read the following article in the times this morning. I had no idea the story had been written into a play but it makes perfect sense. I hope it comes to the states or at...

Drakkar, thanks for the break down on the event. It sounds pretty amazing. I wonder if there is anything comparable in the States.

Re: Anyone get the new Blu-ray?
I did some poking around on the disk region issue so I'll get right to it. I found a review here: http://www.dvdoutsider.co.uk/bluray/reviews/l/let_the_right_one_in.html and another here: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReviews44/let_the_right_one_in_blu-ray.htm both of which list the disk as regi...

Re: Would you let Eli in?
I remember doing this into the 80's I think. Thinking back on it now, it does leave a bit of an odd taste.TAPETRVE wrote:Euphemism for "Survival of the fittest"sauvin wrote:Justice and liberty for all?.

Re: How does Eli view her gender-identity situation?
Wouldn't the theory that Eli was sold down the river assume much about Eli's father's knowledge of what the Lord really was? It didn't appear that any of the mothers knew what was what when they took their kids to the castle, and you know, married couples do talk, and would be expected to talk, abo...

Re: the title ?
I too had at first thought the title of the film to be a reference to the vampire lore/myth of invitation but after seeing the film it occured to me that it meant letting the right one into your heart or life or world. Heart seems to be the best fit for me. Since both characters have had to be so gu...

Re: This Forum is good for something.
I actually found this place looking for LTROI fan fiction a few days after I saw the film. I wasn't sure at the time such a thing existed but I was reasonably sure givin the age of the story. I am so happy to have found the board for not only the higly polished fan fic but the incredibly intelligent...

Re: Oskar, A Blood Donor?
I've said before, I love these characters. I too have my own ideas about how things work out for Eli and Oscar. It can be said there is a lot of misery and loneliness in the world and I am sure most if not all of us have experienced this at least once in our lives. With that said, and I base this on...

Re: Would you let Eli in?
Well, with how Hakan gathers blood we know for a fact that Eli doesn't need to take it directly from a human and thus with cooperation she could be fed non-lethally. However, I see no choice but to kill her if she could not be fed non-lethally  QFT. Under these conditions there is no other sol...
