Re: Would you let Eli in?

I think maybe Gryphon's refusal to accept community standard definitions for many things "moral" may change if the conveniently fictional Eli were to take up residence next door at the same time some of his friends were to start disappearing or being found floating in nearby lakes or rivers. If Eli...

Probably, but in that scenario, I would be angry at her, so uncaring about her feelings. Now, if she came to me without causing harm to those I cared for, I'd be rather more magnanimous :)

Re: Would you let Eli in?

... my view on vampires are the same as my view on predators, humanity have no right to judge them because of what they have to do to survive. Suicide is also no option for me. Exactly right. Vampires are a different species. Judging them by human standards is silly, IMO. Of course, judging anyone ...

Re: Would you let Eli in?

I guess I don't see anything desirable in Eli's situation at all, apart from finding true love. I sympathise with Eli, but partly because I would not want to be like her. Then you did not dream about being a vampire as a child like I did, did you? (didn't I tell you that I was a dark child. ;) ) So...

Re: Would you let Eli in?

From previous discussions, it makes me wonder.. It seems like some are willing to give up being an adult if they could to be with Eli (ie, to avoid sexual frustration). Really? You would give up being an adult and be 12 again? That is some sacrifice. It is also something i had not expected. Some pa...

Re: About Let me in

To quote Mark Kermode: Let The Right One In is a story about growing up, which just happens to have vampires in it. Let Me In is a vampire movie which just happens to have children in it. What do you guys think? No, given my school experiences were more like Owen's than Oskars, LMI was definitely a...

I guess the only love that is popular with American audiences is the sugary Twilight type that causes diabetes.
Sad but probably true. :(

Re: Getting pulled out of theaters already?

Kind of an interesting way to cap off LMI's domestic theatrical run with this movie being no. 1, Jackass 3D has already earned $21,800,000 since Fri.: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/ LMI is not even on the chart, did not expect it to do this badly, sad that LMI would finally be buried by ...

Re: LMI Is a Box Office Flop

I'm not sure if the vampiric subject is to blame... puting myself in the shoes of a moviegoer with only a cursory knowledge of the story, I'd personally consider the "demonic child" element to be a major turn off. Evil kids (vampires or otherwise) have been done to death and hold no interest to me ...
