Re: First post-premiere thoughts
I was thinking that I should re-acquaint myself with the novel, but after your review I guess it is best if I come to the film with no expectations. I wonder how long it will take before I can stream it in the US?
And streaming with a dub but no subtitles does not count.

In Memory of Sauvin
A long time member of this community is gone. Sauvin passed away this past May 26, 2023. Sauvin was a very prolific contributor here, and a trusted member of the moderator staff. I suppose it might be strange to feel the loss of someone you never met in person, someone who you really only know throu...

Re: Let the Right One In "Frome"
My daughter gave me one for my birthday last year. I would not have bought one for myself, but now having one I feel like I would have been missing out on something. It is amazing to me how this Frome can evoke the emotional narrative of the film. When I look at it, if I don't try to examine it and ...

Re: New TV adaptation ordered by Showtime
"The show is both a love letter to the original film and a unique story of its own", Hinderaker added. Every piece of LTROI fan fic I've ever read is also a love letter to the story. This is right sentiment in my view. I'm in. Untethering their stories from the original story line while keeping to ...

Re: What makes a vampire?
I think that perhaps a hint to what a vampire is occurs just a few lines before the excerpt that you included above: She hesitated. Oskar stayed in the same position, with his hand on the jacket he had just hung up. He looked at the jacket as he asked: "Are you a vampire?" She wrapped her arms aroun...

Re: HtU film starts production in 2021
This is interesting. While to me LTROI was definitely a story about love, (and I think Harbour was as well), HtU was a story about grief more than it was a story about love. Did any of the Undead give any sign that they felt love? Maybe I should put it on my list of things to do to re-read HtU to se...

Re: Killing Jonny
This is a pretty cool idea. I wonder how Oskar's reaction would change depending upon how long it has been since the train ride to Karlstad?
