Re: More Details from Collider

If that's about what I think it's about, bear in mind that Americans aren't generally avid readers and may not even be aware of the novel's existence. In this derivative but otherwise self-contained rendition, Abby never left anything in the subway, never dropped a towel "just so you'll know" and ne...

Re: New TV adaptation ordered by Showtime

This is one of the areas where the 2010 (or so) remake of the 1976 movie "Carrie" exceeded the original for today's audiences. Back in the day, there were no cells, tablets, wifi - in fact, most common people couldn't even afford consumer movie cameras. In Moretz' Carrie, just before she snapped and...

Re: Thoughts about Let The Old Dreams Die !!!SPOILERS!!!

On the subject of what the kids did during the missing 16 hours, well... they went on their honeymoon, of course! Hmm, you usually go on your honeymoon after your marriage, don't you? :geek: Their "marriage", as I see it, is the blood exchange ceremony in Karlstad - albeit O&E would probably rather...

Re: Thoughts about Let The Old Dreams Die !!!SPOILERS!!!

When the two left Blackeberg, Oskar was twelve years old. If he hadn't turned, what do you suppose he might be like when he turns 40, assuming he's stayed with her the whole time? Well, all oldtimers around here know what he would be like. Pity the fan fiction area isn't available for newcomers to ...

Re: Thoughts about Let The Old Dreams Die !!!SPOILERS!!!

You've all raised some brilliant points. It does seem fitting that it would have been Oskar that brought up the subject after the events at the swimming pool. I feel that only a short time would have passed between the pool and the train - they would want to get out of Blackaberry and the bloodbath...

Re: Thoughts about Let The Old Dreams Die !!!SPOILERS!!!

... I also think the turning was planned already before O&E embarked the train to Karlstad. Oskar was visibly happy on the train, as noticed by Stefan Larsson, the conductor. Oskar was anticipating what would come. And once off the train, he and Eli wasted no time. But I think the notion that "Eli ...

Re: Promo Stills and Storyboard

I mean, the ideas in the storryboards are not so bad actually. Buuuut I still really don't like that the characters are 16, that Eli is clearly a girl, and a blonde with that. Oh well. I didn't much care for the idea of a high school Eli, either. Being "clearly a girl" didn't cross my eyes n...

Re: A&E Remaking 'Let the Right One In'

I agree with this 100%. I mustered up the strength to watch LMI the other day... I hadn't ever seen it for fear that it would disappoint me... It did... They really tried to make it about the horror when that's not what the story is about. Yeah, there are some chilling parts of the story but it's n...

Re: Same universe?

I like the idea of the second option more, although knowing what I do of Handling the undead and a little of JALs other stories, without having read them I don't think they would be able to exist in the "Eliverse" without having to trip over each other constantly. "Eliverse" by the way is brilliant...

Re: Same universe?

I think this is an exception to the rule that all of John Ajvide Lindqvist's stories take place in their own unique universes. But that does mean there are other supernatural thins besides Eli in the LTROI universe. I wonder if JAL ever were to decide to write another book about Oskar and Eli or on...
