Re: Håkan’s and Eli’s Gender

I honestly don't think he does give in. . I was referring to a bit later on after that passage, when he's in the library. He does take the boy into the bathroom stall with him, but nothing much happens. He got pretty close though, but if I remember right he starts to imagine that it's Eli since thi...

Re: Håkan’s and Eli’s Gender

Håkan is a fantastically conflicted character. He is the most disgusting sympathetic character I have ever experienced. . I still think so too. I would not say that Hakan has a preference for males. During the first kill we read about he happens upon a small girl who is walking through the woods si...

Re: Music used in NTS production

I keep thinking of Sigur Ros, ever heard of them? :D Johan Söderqvist appears to be a big fan... ;) He even used the same track in Kongen av Bastøy that he did in After the Wedding (or maybe Brothers?) Not sure. I was pretty surprised at that... Ólafur Arnalds sounds like a good choice though. I'd ...

Re: What's in a name?

By that I refer to the anger she keeps in her heart for what happened to her; the central injustice of losing her former life that allows her to continue her existence at the expense of other's lives. If she didn't hang onto that identity, there would be no reason to be angry at the world, because ...

Re: The Wolves After Skansen

It's easy enough to get on and off Djurgården, by bridge or ferry. But it's also hard to leave without being seen. Based on the letter Teresa writes I dont think they had a plan. They would accept whatever happened after the event. I think most people who commit mass murder like that don't care what...

Re: LTROI Norwegian/swedish

Here's a comparison of book sizes. (Sorry it's a bit blurry). LDRKI is the same size as Människohamn. The book on the left I would say is just a bit smaller than the American edition of LTROI, which unfortunately I don't have with me. Människohamn (and other pocket books) are just a bit longer than ...

Re: LTROI Norwegian/swedish

The postage and handling very likely is 99 kr, i.e. twice the cost for the book. You might be able to save some money by ordering several books at once, since that 99 kr not unlikely will suffice for a small number of books. Yes, I don't think they'll ship it overseas unless it's at least a couple ...

Re: LTROI Norwegian/swedish

Anyway, I am inspired also to try to read this in Swedish if I can find a copy. I bought a Swedish copy of the dvd, why can't I do the same with a book if it is in print? I think you can order from here, http://www.sfbok.se/ if you speak Swedish (there's no English version of the site). They ship o...

Re: For Benedict Cumberbatch fans

Good call. Parade's End is very very good, as you would expect from a BBC period drama. Cumberbatch is brilliant in this, but then again, I think he is brilliant in everything he does. But even if you don't have a mancrush on Benedict, it is an excellent story of a man torn between duty and love, w...
