Re: Arabic Text Discovered on Viking Burial Clothing
This actually turned out to be a figment of the imagination of the researcher in question. The matter has even turned out to generate a minor scientific row in editorials and culture pages of some of the major newspapers in Sweden, regarding over-use of what's commonly called "identity policy".

Re: Translation
Thanks, metoo. The translator did seem to mess a few things up. Pretty bad if I noticed. Don't think they were too familiar with English terms. I thought I general rule was that you always translate into your mother tongue? Not that it keeps translators into Swedish from messing up - I've seen nume...

Re: Bath of Blood
I've also wondered quite a bit about the blood and considered it a glitch of sorts in the story. I recently re-read the book and tried to make sense of it but finally just ended up "accepting" it. The fact that it isn't used for feeding is no problem however, since Håkan clearly elaborates on the fa...

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ErVi4IpAL._SX258_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg It seems we share a common interest in military history, and more specifically aviation. I've read quite a bit about WWII aviation in my days as well. Currently though I'm more into a somewhat more humoristic piece of wor...

Re: Favorite Movie other than LTROI?
These are the films I currently have awarded a 10 on IMDB, I guess that is one place to start: Saraband (really requires however that one has seen the previous TV series Scenes from a marriage) The Big Blue Ran The Idiots Pulp Fiction The Fellowship of the Ring One flew over the cuckoo's nest Schind...

Last one finished was Himmelstrand by John Ajvide Lindqvist, and presently I'm about 25 pages short of finishing Rörelsen by the same author. Re: Reviews
Interestingly I was at a 50's style hamburger restaurant North of Karlstad a few days ago and next to our table was a movie poster for The Man from Laramie starring James Stewart That was a coincidence, wasn't it? :-D I believe it wouldn't spoil Himmelstrand very much for our forum friends if we re...
