Re: Chloe directed by TA

As far as what you have stated about Lina, I feel the same way, although I don't really know if I am able to judge the performance itself on it's own merits simply because Lina is Sweedish, and I am not. Believable, yes most definitely, but how much of that believablility (is that even a real word?...

Re: So what about the other stories?

I was talking, of course, about 'Substitute'. I reread it after I posted that. Great story. Definitely my favourite from that book.

Re: So what about the other stories?

I was thinking about that story with the substitute human teacher today. The one with the Pink Floyd song. What was it called again? I have the book, but it's upstairs in my bedroom, and I'm too lazy to get it, haha. It's been years since I read it, but that was definitely the story that stuck with ...

Re: Did anyone else like LMI better as a film?

It's understandable that people would like the original better, not only because it's painfully true that American adaptions tend to screw up foreign films, but also because of the sense of nostalgia that the viewer has attached to the original that could be replaced by no adaption or sequel. Often...

I actually teared up. Damnit, I'm such a softie. :P I guess hearing it in a different, refreshed way was almost like hearing it for the first time again. I loved it, many many kudos.

Re: There is NO other way to say it...I too HATED this movie

Ahem. ? Lisbeth Salander is a redhead. She dyes her hair black. That is an essential part of her character. So neither actress who've played the part got that right. I'm aware that she dyes it, thank you. I've read the books. That's not the point, the point is that in both movies they made sure the...

Re: There is NO other way to say it...I too HATED this movie

I understand why people have a problem with Chloe looking nothing like Eli from the book. I do too. If you love a book and a character, you want that character to stay intact in the movie, you want to recognize the character you love and like it or not, the appearance is a part of that. What if they...

Re: Eli's different faces (eyes)

Wow, dude. I never knew what the second time was when she was replaced by an old actress. I knew the "be me a little" part of course, but I never knew when the second time was! I never never realized this! I did notice she looked different the second time you saw her... but I thought it was her face...

Re: Pool Scene

I didn't want to start a new thread about this, but I found this quote from an interview with the director quite interesting: For me, the preceding pool scene is his fantasy. He actually dies here. In reality, he would die. Instead, he leaves. Now, it is clear from other interviews that both the bo...
